Default Vauxhall want staff to take 9 Month Sabbatical

Car Manufacturer Vauxhall has offered its Workforce at Ellesmere Port the chance to take a sabbatical on 30% pay.

Under the scheme which is being introduced to try and prevent Compulsory redundancies due to amount of stock held,
and lack of demand in present economic climate.
Staff would stay away from 1st January to September 2009 on less than a third of their Basic Salary.
The offer was put to Unions at the Plant after being approached by Company on Thursday.

A Spokesman said the Company had to introduce this offer as it wanted to avoid making any compulsory redundancies.

With over 10,000 Vehicles in Fields and on Runways around the Country
I think a Massive Buy One Get One Free Clearance Sale is in order.
Or if saved by the Taxpayer, start giving them away free!

Someone will always want a buy one get one free deal, even if Junk.
Some people just like a bargain regardless of image, quality or other things.

Look at the rubbish people buy in Supermarkets when this deal is on,
and quite often they would never use item.

No I would never buy anything made by them no matter what.or how low a price.
but that is a personal opinion, which we are all entitled too.

In France, Peugeot are giving their employees food rations (like at the salvation army in the war years) due to lowered pay and conditions... What has the world come to?
