I brought my diesel zt 5 years ago with 181000 miles on the clock , had to change the clutch and recently the whole front suspension, didn't have to but I've decided to keep it for a while longer.
Exhaust, bushes and drop links I now class as service items due to the poor quality of many out there. Mileage is now just over 245000. Stan

My Rover 75 Tourer is now on 327000 miles and its getting better and quicker with age...LOVE IT!!!
Just had a service last week at a MG Rover specialist and it drives as good as when i had it brand new 18 years ago....... the copperleaf red still sparkles I spent £250 in 2018 having t40 oil injected into the floor and suspension was all replaced December 2019, best decision i made, the car drives like brand new. It came out the specialists last week and the mechanic said , i gone over that car like a fine tooth comb, i cant find anything wrong with it.... as i asked for a proper inspection as the Mots in July 2020. He said its rock solid and the suspension arms at the back i replaced in 2018 have the black paint still on them shining, whats that "STUFF" on them T40 made for Canada's winters mate...... The Rover 75 still looks a better shape than my modern Jaguar car i own, i always look back at the 75, sheer class, especially in the Tourer version Last edited by Olde faithful; 29th May 2020 at 00:10.. |

That, is a great combination. All those miles, and in Copperleaf to boot !!
I'm very encouraged my Copperleaf, on 95k on a 53 plate, will serve me faithfully for many, many miles to come. It's as solid as a rock underneath. My pride and joy ! |

It doesn't matter really, but a car which has been cared for will drive okay, but it won't feel as tight as they were when new, even if every single suspension component is replaced Anyone claiming otherwise is either deluding themselves, or telling porkies Brian |

Thanks all, what you have all proved is that I shouldn’t lose faith in my car and I should just invest my money on mine instead of swopping for an unknown quantity! Where’s my DMGR spare catalogue!!

High mileage
Go for it.
These things just keep on going. 217,000+ on mine and still returns good mpg no smoke and no vibes. The only thing that lets it down is the drivers seat but that will be an easy fix. I fancy a bit of leather. |
