Default Help me. ZT V8 007

I'm writting from Barcelona, Spain. I have the ZT V8 number 007. It is a prototipe of September 2002. And a big nightmare. My problem is that I can't do diagnosis and I can't enter into the ECU because I don't have the codes (I can't get them). Can anyone help me or give me some ideas, please? Without them I can't repair abs, airbags, air aconditioning...

Are the prototipes different at diagnostic? I have been trying to repair the car for 4 months.

Thanks.

Hi

My T4 can talk to my ZT260 without any problem.
Have you tried it on a T4 if so what happens? Is it saying the cars configuration is wrong and is asking you to enter the GM SA and VN codes first?

Note, your MGR dealer must be using a T4 earlier Testbooks will not work at all

What exactly is the problem?

We have a T4, but it can't connect with the Zt260. The problem is that we need some codes (that nobody knows them because the car wasn't for buy it, it was only for tests ) to enter to the ECU. Next week I'll talk to the mechanic and I'll explain what codes are to you. I have already taken the car to 3 workshop MG Rover and none of them cab enter to the ECU.

Yes I see, for some further info read this thread
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=1976

You may have two problems

1, Your car just needs the codes re entered if so your dealer will have to contact X-Part/Omitec and they will issue them.
2, Your car may have either an early Engine ECU or more likely a Gateway ECU that is not compatible with dealer T4s, if so you may need to replace them with production ones.
3, Some T4s have timeout problems talking the the V8 try a faster laptop

I think that the problem is number 1. But the people of X-Part/Omitec don't find the codes of the prototipes.

Hi taradoO

Welcome to the forums

Sorry to hear about your problems

I think i like the V8 with the mustang badge on rather then the land Rover

Good Luck

They don't need to

The process involves ticking several boxes on a form and sending it back they then calculate the codes from there

Then you can enter them it does not really need to be 100% right the first time does it

e.g if you have cruise control and forget to put a tick in that box it won't matter if you otherwise can't get the car to run

Of course you may have more serious problems like the diagnostic connector may not be wired up fully, maybe they had some other kind of diagnostic connection on the early prototypes especially as the early cars were supposed to have never found there way into private ownership

The form attached is an example for a Diesel there is probably a similar one for the V8

problem may be that they insist on seeing the present codes before they will issue new ones (like they did with me)... it is easier for them then to ensure they give you the right ones.

Good point, in that case he needs to copy some off as near an identical car as possible
