Why do many messages not show when New posts is selected .

Most notably when someone answers one of my own posts?

Seems a bit random ?

just wondering about this for a while ( like 10 years)

I know the TwoSixties seem to work like that, select “new posts” and that’s all you get or select “activity stream” to see conversations

Why not use 'Quick Links' / 'Subscribed Threads' ?

It lists all the threads you have contributed to, or started and those which have received a reply which you have not read, are in bold.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I’m not sure I understand what your describing Chris?

For me, when I select New Posts it shows a list of all new threads that have been started since I was last on line as well as showing those existing threads that have had a new reply added to them. If it’s a thread I have contributed to, I get the little tick icon along side it too.

Do you not get the above when you use New Posts then?

Just selected "new posts" for the 1st time. Got 10 new posts in last 1 1/2 hrs. Also 450 posts not read. I didn't know you could do that. After 6yrs of membership.

It's just that When I select new posts I get a list of posts (apparently). , but then if I search for posts by me, I can see new unread replies/posts that are not mentioned in the original new posts list .

Does that make sense 😁

Happens to me too - I've noticed a few times that clicking the New Posts button won't necessarily bring up threads to which I have previously replied and which have had further replies subsequent to my own.
