Default VIN's!

Just reading the thread on 'S' plate cars and wondered if it would be possible to compile a similar list for the last cars built?

I suppose the 'S' plate list must be alot easier to compile because of the way they were registered in succession?

The last chassis numbers were for the Rover 75 355194

The Rover 45 is 657815, I do not know the last Rover 25, However I know that the SMG Rover cars (08 regs) which are the very last new old stock undriven are the 350/351000 chasis numbers on the silver diesel models.

The V8 down there is chassis number 702, The others I do not know off the top of my head.

With the S reg cars it is more straight forward as all these cars were registered by the manufacturer, in succession and for a purpose.

With the last cars it is a case of whereever they ended up and where they were registered after the administration.

I'm pretty sure they built in batches and did a run of tourers through the '354's' and then started on saloons again once they got to 355?

Does anyone have any more info or know a way of getting it?? Other than access to build records I guess this could be tricky!

One of the very last tourers (or 75/ZT for that matter!) on Autotrader. 2006 Conn SE auto diesel on chassis 354979. My ZTT is 354939, adding to the case that some of the very last cars made were tourers.

Sorry to hijack, but have been looking at mine and comparing it to the main site fact sheet.

is the one on the main site out of date?

but My VIN is

SAR = Rover
RJ = Rover75
L = MG (TL7.1)
L = Saloon
T = ??
G = ??
5 = 2005
D = Longbridge

What is the T and the G? I cant find a reference for it.

Thanks
Simon

The 8th digit describes your engine type "T" = MG ZT 160PS 1.8T 1800 Petrol

The 9th digit describes your gear box and steering side "G" = 1800 Petrol (Turbo) Manual RHD.

Hope that helps.
