That's a very kind offer but he really wants a diesel by the sounds of it

Diesels are notorious for expensive repair bills, plus with petrol at 10 pence per litre cheaper, the difference in fuel consumption is negligible.
Remember my car needs nothing with all major jobs done recently. |

Sorry Rich but I have seen far more petrol owners with issues than Diesels on the forums... from what I read I would not have a petrol personally.

Like many others I know exactly what being put down and out feels like...
The generosity and just plain love for a fellow human being shown here moves me to tears. It easily balances out anything said by a trillion haters. I'm brassy skint after saving to fix my fans but I'll gladly send a few quid. Good luck Dave!

I do know that lovema75 does want a diesel though...as I understand it will be used for business purposes. Lets not start another these are better than those threads. I would like a diesel for the higher mileages I see stated, but then I do not live in my car and would never do them sort of mileages, my 75 1.8 only turned 74,000 yesterday and for the size of car ( tourer ) she ticks all my boxes and leaves me £££'s to spend elsewhere |

But that's not the point of this thread. More on topic, as David is not flush with a contingency for repairs, cars that 'look good' are not a good idea. He needs a car that is good. |
