My 75 is a 2001 model, and the Windows TOAF reads the ABS module correctly, and lists all the faults. Android TOAF presumably reads the module, stating faults are present, but does not list them. It performs properly in every other aspect.
It's really a matter of convenience: having to lug the laptop out to the car, and eventually getting it to connect with TOAF, is a real faff. Plugging in the phone is so much easier, and 21st century! |

Good news for all of us.
I've just received an answer from John Rossiter als dragon-packaging (Ebay) about his "KKL cable for use with the Rover 75 TOAF OBD software airbag ABS engine - Modified KKL USB cable for use with the TOAF software for Rover 75 and MG ZT". It reads:"can you please ask him to state that all the cables now have pins 7 and 8 bridged (shorted) for full compatibility. ThanksThank you. Regards - John." So David I've done your job! I hope you do not worry about...

I've just got my cable today.
Then nearly at once I've tested it. I can connect so both cables and software are working fine! Thank you Mr. Rossiter. As I'm a bit conservative I've only checked some functions such as EMS for KV6, JATCO, LCM & ATC, and without firing up the engine. And among the lot the VIS motors. All look in good order and working nicely! It looks rather easy to use as long as you check functions & errors. But so far I don't want to make a mess while going into coding. I need to learn how to use it before. There is a How To about the TOAF at https://www.mg-rover.org/threads/mg-...4#post-8450161 and https://yadi.sk/i/Z7rozCs63LHYGt. Interesting but TBH it's far from being comprehensive and I feel rather disappointed with so clever a software with so poor a documentation.

If you installed an android touch screen head unit in place of the radio, would it be possible to leave it permanently plugged in to the diagnostic port, allowing you to open TOAF on your in car screen as required?
