Martin, where are you?
We're keen to know what's printed on your control box as Arctic asks. We like to resolve technical enquiries and not leave them open. Simon

I've not removed the fan housing so I can't post pictures of the wiring, but from what I can see.
3 wire motor with purple wire and a silver resistor (that was rivited to the chassis leg), resistor was part of the purple wire. Control box only had 2 relays in it, the only similarity I can remember is the green foam spacer as seen in Arctics picture. The external of the control box only had the following markings on it. I've fitted a new 100w 0.5ohm resistor and now have a working low speed & high speed fan |

Yes i have a feeling it's a two wire 2 speed but the OP is counting the purple wire going into the control box not the motor it's self ?

Does your fan shroud have the mounting for a resistor and if so, did you fit it there (in the airstream)? Simon

The shroud does have a mounting point for the resistor and I've fashioned up a metal bracket to mount the new resistor in the air flow. I do want to replace the fan housing with one that's slightly less broken, but I'm prepping the car to go on holiday so don't have time to do that in the next week, but I will update this thread with pictures once I take it off again. |
