have you checked the lower rear engine mount ? (teardrop mount) this is the usual culprit.

if its not been replaced i would do it anyway. easy fix. they sometimes appear to look ok upon inspection but when it is removed you will see the rubbers are shot and the clunk is coming from the centre bush . there is a how to on here i think by arctic which explains the better ways to do the job as o2 sensors and engine moving forward create small issues when fitting a new one. mat has them at dmgrs if you need one. good luck !!

More or less certain that it is the ‘tear drop’ lower engine mount. When Lates did mine, the rubber in the large eye was completely shot and in bits. Driving home wad like being on a magic carpet.

If you also get hard shifting between gears a fluid change makes a big difference. They say it's lifetime fluid but the cars were never expected to last 15-20+ years!

As others have said check the rear engine mounting also a gearbox oil change might be a good idea as it's due every 4 years or 60000 miles
