We've owned many cars over the years and when I worked with an Austin Rover main dealer I had dozens of company cars and when on holiday we have hired quite a few.

Of the company cars my best looking one was a Russet Brown Allegro 1500 special which had velour seating and vinyl roof but it was also my worst car as it was so gutless I wore through the clutch pedal rubber in 12 thousand miles.

Of the hire cars I reckon it was the Ford Mustang convertible we had in Florida in 2005 I really did not want to return that car

On the cars we have owned well without a shadow of doubt it was the missus's 75 diesel Connoisseur which we had for 13 years the longest ever we kept a car in fact I reckon I should have kept it and sold my V6 Connoisseur but as it had the lower mileage I kept it.
In 2nd place after the 75's it would be my SD1 Vitesse which I still have tucked away fully restored and under a dust sheet.

On my wish list or lottery win it would be a Range Rover or a Bentley Mulsanne or even both.

I know I'd really not be able to deal with not having my GTE. Sounds like the fact it's for sale is a sign that you need to get it back!

Looks fantastic, Vic, and not dissimilar to my '79 car, although mine is a different shade of yellow.

1978 Cortina 2.3GL: my first grown up car and vastly improved by the addition of the 5-speed box from a Sierra and the carb set up from a 3.0 Granada.

2000 Renault Scenic RX4: reliability and comfort for more miles than I care to remember, mostly in France.

1994 Honda CRX: Proper JDM rather than a poncey Del Sol. Totally insane kamikaze bomber.

1996 Mitsubishi FTO: My Yobbomobile. Drove like nothing I've experienced before or since.

BUT the best one of all is the one I have now. My fantastic 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4. Wonderfully comfortable. Totally reliable. Gorgeous 4G69 engine coupled to the INVECS 2 tiptronic box. And, most important of all, never makes me look a twonk by getting stuck in the car park at a variety of agricultural shows.

My best car would have to be my current 'everyday' car which is an Audi A6 Avant, 3.0TDI with every toy imaginable.

However my favourite car was probably my Rover 75, Connoisseur SE, CDT, Automatic in White Gold.
