Question 115bhp upgrade?

Hi

I read somewhere on this site that x-part operatives in GB were offering a cheap upgrade ( 115 - 135bhp) for approx £55+vat

Are any of the x-part guys in NI offering this upgrade???

thoughts please... or did I imagine this !!!

No its true but theres an issue.

You need to pay an xpart dealership for between an hour to two hours worth of t4 usage depending on their capability.

The cheapest in Northern Ireland is £35 an hour plus vat, talking the price to around £110 in total (if just an hour).

So thats now up to £110 for the 13bhp on a map thats designed in the late 90s.

We are doing a group buy on custom remaps based on a live map unique to your car for £150.

You will see between 150 to 160 bhp roughly depending on what your car has done to it (eg, egr by pass, decat exhaust or anything like that) and you can have it tuned for economy, medium range power or high reving power, whatever suits you.

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread but, looking for a bit of advice.
Picking up a 116PS auto tourer on Thursday.

It does require a new IPK display, I see I can purchase a replacement cluster on ebay for £116 which will require a T4 session along with fitting. I was going to get the Metric speedometer rather than orignal imperial one, I'm in Kildare and its a Northern car.

Which is the best option;
Xpart deal, 116PS->130PS plus have the Cluster fitted on the same T4 session.

Madtuning,116-> 130+ ,I assume if they can remap the ECU they can also introduce it to a new IPK.

Not looking for a huge performance increase from the engine, just whatever improvements are coded in ten years since the vehicle was new.

A standard Rover 75 with one of the madtuning maps will be closer to 150 to 155bhp depending on what you prefer. Value for money is much better with it being set up for mpg, low torque, towing, anythnig you want.

the x-power upgrade gives around 135bhp. If thats enough for you then it seems best to go for it and have your new ipk T4'd at the same time rather than pay £150 for a re-map and then £35/hr +vat for ipk T4 session.
