My dad had a 2600 SE SD1 which also had the 3 speed auto. It never seemed under geared and could achieve licence losing speeds all too easily
Id dearly love to own one today. For me the 800 was a poor replacement, To me the Sd1 was, dare I say it, the last 'proper' Rover! |

What's stopping you then Gavin? An SD1 Club member continuously monitors e-bay ads and posts details for discussion on the forum. Six cylinder cars come up regularly and are reasonably priced. The only thing you have to remember is that build quality was poor in those days so you need to be a committed DIYer!
