Default Rear footwell water

Saloon with sunroof
Sunroof not used for 6 years
Car has been sitting for weeks had damp screens so purchased bags too dry out
Took car out for a drive and noticed the drivers seat belt was damp when pulled out , lead me to check out and found rear foot well flooded
Have also got water in opposite side of boot and I’ve already replaced lights seals
Noticed location of sunroof drain pipe in boot and it was that raised ledge that had the water sitting there

I've just been through this problem. Two likely causes firstly make sure the drain tubes from the sunroof each side of the boot are fully inserted into the final tube that runs through the body to drain behind the wing liner (sounds like you have already discovered this is where the problem lies). Secondly make sure that the end of the drain tube behind the liner has not closed over causing a blockage.
In the first instance you can get suitable hose connectors at Halfords which will join the two tubes better than Mr Rover. In the second instance cut off the soft rubber 'lips' on the end of the pipe, you should be able to pull the liner aside enough to get in with scissors/Stanley blade. Unfortunately there are other sources of water ingress that you may have to look at if the tubes are ok, rear screen and chrome trim clips etc, I have silicone everywhere!!
Hardest job is drying out the carpet which took me about a week without removing it from the car. Good luck.

Get the seats and carpet out, repair all four sunroof drains, dry the carpet and seats and refit.

That's the only way of ensuring the damp will disappear!

Hi Les.
This should help you a little, but i afraid its seats and carpets out to dry out properly, to aid the time maybe clean all the floor panel with Dettol etc, wipe dry then fit a clean dry carpet from another car which did not have a sunroof.

PS don't forget to sort out the ducks bill tube inside the wheel arch cut it off.

Default Update

Drivers seat out two wires needed cutting no removable join
Floor soaking turned out the front rubber that the drain pipe goes into has perished, have tried to use one from the boot as replacement but even with lubricant can’t get it to fit properly, picked up the large size joiners from Halfords ( had done the easy ones in the boot 8 years ago ) but with the location and limited access thinking of using the smaller ones that I’ve gone back for and with a bit of silicone and jubilee clip get it water tight on the (hard) rubber pipe, I think I could then use a plastic 20mm stuffing gland to fit the whole in and tighten up on the pipe joiner
As for getting carpet out , I cut a straight line from centre console to under rear seat , another small cut under handbrake console and lastly tricky one front of gear stick , glad it was only one side as it’s a real struggle getting it out.
Think I may as well do the hand brake mod after all this.
Thanks for all the advise
