Default Whitby break recommendations

Evening all. I'm going for a break in Whitby week commencing 4th March.
Has anyone got any recommendations on somewhere cheap and cheerful?

Don't mind self catering etc, in fact I'd prefer it lol

Cheers

We've stayed in Broomfields Holiday Cottages which are converted barns on a farm.

Perfectly fine.

Boggle hole youth hostel. recently renovated and nice bar area. A bit out of whitby. Hour and half of nice walk along the cliff top footpath to Whitby.

yha whitby is in great location (within whitby abbey grounds) but is a bit dated. cheap and central though!

You could look at AirBnb. We rented various cottages on the North Yorkshire Moors over the years to go to the meets at The Lion for 50GBP per night....The last place we stayed in, was in Danby in an old cottage with parking. The cottage was right across the road from the village pub and the pub was full of charm, good food and characters, but we had to get an EE card in order to receive internet and a phone signal. Have a fabulous break.

Plus a very scenic train ride into Whitby from Danby station, stunning, in any season of the year.
