Andrew

I’ve been every year since 2014, not 2020 of course. I recall seeing a couple of MG Maestros over the years, one lovely red one stands out in memory...
Great vehicles.
See you there, 8th August I dare say.

Thanks good sir, most appreciated. I’d have a couple of sets for spares as soon as I get a car. Currently the boot is said to be not be suffering ingress but you should see my spares stock for Morris minors.....I like to be prepared

There's a black Morris Minor on a nearby street to me. I's been there donkeys years. Starting to look a bit rough now though. Paintwork and chrome needs attention.

Lot about, many folk think the mini was the first British car to sell a million...in fact, the Minor was that car....

I sold my last one to an agent acting for a major museum. He wouldn’t tell he who his client was but it was an as new survivor-car so it will be somewhere prominent by now...

I cut a traveller up last year, it was just too rotten to bother with.

Traveller. Were they the ones with the wood? My uncle had one of those in the 60's
My favourite was my dads Austin Cambridge, the ey had fins (of sorts)
He also had a turquoise mini, a couple of Hillmans etc.

Traveller indeed had the wood, an “estate” of sorts. Ive got pals with rover v8 and Chevy big block engines in drag minors.... you will have seen them at pateley as we always have a collection of cars on show there.

Oxfords and Cambridge’s, lovely.....
I’ve had hillman imps, brilliant fun. Need a few bags of gravel in the front (That’s the boot) or the under steer was hilarious.....
They used a Coventry climax fire pump engine on the back axle same as the bond bug.......I’d better not get started on the list of classics owned.

Lovely car, to think someone was going to scrap it is bonkers.....

I’m in discussions with the vendor of P7FVE. A thoroughly decent chap, the second owner since Parker from this club.
I’ve asked for a few pics of the underside and interior. The owner knows I’m serious and I think the price @ £1600 is very fair for the car. I’m sure it will be fine, it has apparently been well looked after since Parker sold it and if I get the pics showing all is ok underneath, I’ll have it. He will get pics to me when he can.
Currently I’m getting transportation quotes, it’s about £420 average with a few quotes in. Trip is Portsmouth to Thirsk, about 300 miles....
I’m keen to get the best one-move service, going for the cheap option will inevitably involve several shunts around the country, something to be avoided at all costs.

Apparently, competition for the car is Keen and the vendor has multiple interested parties...I’m inclined to believe him, it looks like it is worthy of much interest.
If it is meant to be, it will be, if not then I’ll continue the search.

Cheers
Al
