Default Intercooler seals

Rover 75 CDTi Mk1 Tourer
I'm just about to fit new intercooler O rings to my 2ltr diesel and the ones I have received from DMGRS appear to be a very loose fit on the elbow pipe. Is this normal?

Just for clarity, these are 3.5mm viton rings. Approx dimensions 55mm ID, 62mm OD. They're just not what I was expecting not having done this particular job before.

Doesn't sound right at all. The upper O-Ring should fit snug in the groove and the lower one shoudn't be slack or drop off the elbow. You'll get the correct size rings from Rimmer or the various 75/ZT parts suppliers on eBay.

Something isn't right here.

I've just fitted a pair from DMGRS and they were a lovely, snug fit.

Give them a call and check that you've received the right ones .

Hope you get it sorted very soon.

Thanks. The last thing I want to do is damage the intercooler for the sale of a few quid. Sent DMGRS an enquiry with images. Would post some images here but haven't quite figured that out yet.

That was quick. DMGRS have just got back to me apologizing for sending out the wrong rings. The diameter should be just under 50mm.

Sorry about that! Just nipped to the Post Office with the correct items.
Also moved them a shelf away from the L Series Oil Cooler O Rings (which are about 6mm bigger...!)
