Default Wanted: Rover 75 6 door supplement

Dear Rover 75 friends, my Name is Alexander from Germany and I bought a 6 door Rover 75 limousine (RHD in UK), manufactured in 2004 and build by McNellie. The problem is that I have no declaration from McNellie that builing the limousine from 4 door to 6 door happened in good technical practice and that it is no problem running a 6 door limousine with the same brakes and other technical equipment than a 4 door. Ineed such a supplement to bring the lovely 75 with Germsn MOT on the road again. Does anyone know something about such a supplement, does anyone can send me a copy of such a supplement or does anyone know where I can get help? Thank you so much, Alexander

Probably insufficient by itself, but may lead on to something along the right tracks for you.

The book "Rover 75 and MG ZT, the complete storey" by James Taylor (ISBN 978 / 84797 685 7) refers to S. MacNeillie & Son and the fact that the 6 door Rover 75 was intended for the funeral / undertakers market, alongside their hearses (coffin carrying funeral cars)

Additionally, it mentions Civic (town or City council) markets.

Obviously the cars were "legal" in the UK, and possibly an enquiry to the Special Vehicles department of the UK's DVLA (Driver & Vehicle Licencing Authority) might yield something.

Best of Luck

Mike

As a quick follow up, there is a member on here who runs 2 Rover 75 hearses, and 3 off 6 door limousines.

"LimoRog" may well be able to offer further help.

Regards

Mike
