R75 2,5V6: 840 euro a year EACH, so 3 x....
Ford Fiesta 1.3: 450 euro a year.
Hyundai Ionic electric: until 2025 zero road tax subsidiated.

A R75 diesel would cost1700 euro road tax a year.

Prices are exluding insurences, those come on top of them. So, all you guys are paying WAY more less so count your blessings. Btw, 1 liter gasoline fuel is 1,91 euro at the moment.

mines about the same 2.5 v6 177 2002 : £346. per annum. but i have heard that the later petrol reg cars 2005 were over £520 ... dont know if this is true though. im on LPG with almost zero emissions but someones has got to pay for the diesel pollution. it wont be the diesel owners because that will effect businesses. they dare not even touch the MOT pass levels for diesel cos its still basically a smoke test for most. ....

When I had six motors about five years ago my VED bill was £900 p.a.

Had to get rid of a couple but my VED bill is just the same.

All our cars (1.8, 2.0 and 2.5) registered before 1st March 2001 are now £270 (based on engine size as over 1549cc).
https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-...e-1-march-2001

After that is based on emissions

Thank you for reminding me of that, Mike.
My V6 is a Cowley car, built on the 30th June 2000, but not registered until that date of the 1st March 2001.
If it was registered a day before, it would be £270 rather than £330.

At least my diesel 75 is a bit cheaper at £305.
This is because it pollutes more and would attract ULEZ charges, whereas my V6 doesn't.

At you can probably tell, I think that the VED is a brilliantly thought out system, obviously devised down the pub.

Same engine but one installed early 2005 and the other in 2006. Exact emissions for same engine but cut-off point mid 2005 (I think). So, we go into stupid mode and say the later engine needs to be taxed more. To be fair, I think all this emanates from EC directives and then enhanced by "Green" superannuated elite Civil Servants from good 'ole Blighty!
