Default Exhaust back box

Can anyone recommend a back box for my 75 diesel.

The issue is, I'm wanting to fit a ZT box with longer tailpipes. I'm obviously opening up the rear bumper and fitting the ZT trim.

So many advertised say 75 / ZT, how can they advertise it as the same back box when the tailpipes are different lengths ?

Default Back box

You want the clamshell one from Dmgrs I purchased. Then thats exactly what I did, cut out and fitted the ZT trim. Unfortunately they are showing as sold out but maybe worth giving them a ring.

Just to let you know, a ZT cdti has a different bore size to a Rover 75

I thought it was only the ZT 190 that was bigger?
Rimmers list the same part number.

the exhaust catalogue is all over the place with rimmers. Those bore sizes do not correspond with reality , and whats on your car . I spent nearly an hour on the phone once to rimmers stores as he went in and out measuring for me . differing inner bores and outer sizes he came back with were unreal. I measured my own exhaust inner and outer sizes and still had problems trying to fit even with the joiners they listed. One of the reasons why i went for a one time fitted st/steel cat back system. The original systems fitted were stainless on the early systems.God knows where and what they have now. Im sure that on some cars that the sizes were used according to stock levels at production. Rimmers will tell you they fit , but in practice , well thats another storey...

Many thanks!

I've decided the only way really is to visit Tony Banks. He is quite close to me. I've booked it in , but the earliest they can do it is after my MOT date.

My back box isn't actually blowing although the outer skin has all but disappeared. I can see a bit of black around the area where the pipe joins the box. I reckon I'll fill it with a bit of exhaust putty to hopefully get it through the test.

Thanks everyone.

Hi Dave (stocktake)

Sorry for not getting back to you, I've not had chance to get on here for a couple of days.

Thank you for your fantastic offer! Fortunately I've now got everything sorted. Tony Banks has managed to get my car booked in just before the MOT expires.

Like I said, thanks for your great offer.
