This mornings entertainment before it gets too hot!
My drunk neighbours pyracantha is coming away from the wall where he doesn't trim it back or maintain it. IMG_5706 by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr it is now not leaving enough gap on our shared access drive for me to get the car through without scraping my door mirror He has been asked on numerous occasions to deal with it but no joy. Yesterday in one of his more amenable moments (not drunk) he agreed to let us cut it back and re attach it to the wall. So, I'll catch up with you when it's done, hopefully not completely scratched to death by the thorns on the damn thing!

Morning all, morning Jeff. You have A/C in your house and car, so you’ll be okay.
I ordered some cooling towels which are great for chilling out, basically a wet cold tea towel worn around the neck. Apparently there are cooling mats for dogs and cats. Today we are driving to London, as I am to have tests on the heart over the next 3 days, have booked a Premier Inn with A/C. I realise A/C doesn’t agree with everyone but it’s welcomed during these hot spells. Thank goodness it’s working in the Audi on loan, how cool. |

Yep......A/C is great, If I had the money I would install a two way system where the noisy part is bolted to the outside I'm going to get another portable one for the studio as well as that does get pretty toasty in there! Now back in from trimming my neighbours bush........No sniggering you lot Well I say trimming, it was more of a hatchet job. Also drilled in three eye bolts and tied the pyracantha back to the wall so it's no longer tipping forwards. Our neighbour has agreed that we can keep it trimmed seeing that he can't be bothered. Ian's Pyracantha by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr Ian's Pyracantha by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr Ros is finishing tidying it up and at least we can drive through without scratching the car ! Whoops........Good luck with the tests Phil. Hope the Premier Inn you have booked this time is up to scratch, they usually are .

Hi all.
Sorry I haven't been posting for a while but I've been popping in as and when I could. Quizzie is a poorly girl . She in hospital with suspected pancreatitis or abdominal blockage. We're at home sitting by the phone. Hope everyone is all OK and fully prepped for the weather over the next couple of days. Take care. |

Sorry to hear Quizzie isn't well Andy.
Spotted a problem with these new bird feeders Ging got. They're a lot bigger than any we've had before, at least one pigeon has discovered if it stands on the anti climb dome its the perfect height to get at the bottom of the new feeders, the feeders are for small garden birds not flying rats I can't lower the dome because it'll then be within leaping range for the squirrels, did that before and that's when the squirrels destroyed the two plastic feeders. Only thing I can think of is to try to bend the arms to move the feeders away from the pole. Not sure if I can bend them without heat, ¼" square section metal, I've got a blow torch . . . . with an empty gas cylinder, don't want to try to bend them cold in case it is wrought iron. |
