Default key won't disable immobiliser

Hi, I have one key for my 2005 75. It is a project car and not used every day. Recently I went out to start it and the car unlocked OK, ignition turned on OK but the engine won't turn over and the engine immobilised message and symbol comes up on the instrument pack Ran the TOAF software and get a Sparodic error message 1DF5. I see there is a resynchronise EWS/DDE function that doesn't seem to be active on the free download. Would this fix it? Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thx very much JB

Can't help with TOAF as I don't use it (although I've read somewhere that to access that feature on TOAF you have to pay) but have you recently replaced the key casing, or had it apart? The immobiliser chip is in the casing, and can fall out if the case is opened up.

Hi. Thx for the reply. No I haven’t replaced the key casing and the chip is still in the case. JB

After reading more about this problem it seems I will need a T4 to get them working again. Can anyone recommend someone in the Colchester Essex area who may be able to come out and give it a go? Thx JB

Hi Jarrad.
sounds like you need the DDE and EWS matching as the ECU got wet at anytime do you know, anyways you cay remove them from the car and post them out to BigRuss he should be able to help drop him a PM and he will guide you through what you need to do.

Is it a diesel tourer you are referring too, and not the V8

It’s an 05 diesel saloon. It’s a project car I bought to save from the crusher!! Has been a challenge from the beginning but it’s nearly all together. Will send a PM and see what I need to do. The v8’s are all well at the moment. Thx again. JB

I know its a long shot, but have you changed the battery inside the transponder. Im thinking, if the signal has become to weak to decode and synch.

There are members on the group who can recode or replace your key but you will need to send your key, ECU and BCU. Only a thought.

As for the Toaf, i didnt get much from the paid version and unfortunately didnt rate it, but if it helps you out its worth a try.

The battery in the remote has nothing to do with the transponder, it's for the remote unlocking

I've spoken with the OP and am awaiting him to get back to me when he's removed the EWS immobiliser as his car has a sunroof and has had water ingress so the immobiliser is a likely culprit.

Russ
