Default Rattly V6 Cat!! Startermotor

Dear All
I hope everyone is well.

I am hoping that I have a loose heat shield but, knowing my car, it will be the cat!! Advice about new or secondhand cats will be gratefully recieved just in case!!!!
I replaced my startedmotor from one I bought from a kind owner on the forum and its a good job I did! The breakdown chap bump started my car off the sloping back of his pickup truck!! Put the replacement starter motor on a 6am on Saturday morning so I could go to a classic car show and the large jubiliee clip sprang off the inlet rubber tube and itwent down the back of the engine!! It took me longer to fish it out than replace the startermotor!!

I have ordered a new ebay solenoid repair kit and will strip it down this week and then do the other one for a spare.
Thank you for everyone's help and advice it is really appreciated.
I am determined to keep this car on the road.
Best wishes to all
Bob

Run a code reader on your car - if you get code PO 420 then you may have a Cat issue - try and keep the original Cat they are better than after market offerings.

If the cat does prove to be broken, whatever you do , dont part with it.they fetch really good money ... even broken. dont let a garage relieve you of it as they will cash it in. you may be suprised to find you may even get the price of a new modern replacement and some change back for your old scrap one . !!
