Front coil springs
Hiya, do any of you good people have a recommendation for front coil springs please and are tyre protectors fitted as standard on 2005 models?
Euro car parts have Sachs at £22 . Last edited by freewheeler; 25th July 2022 at 09:48.. |

I am no expert but from what I read my late CDTi does not have the coil spring type protectors because the manufacturer decided that they would not fit them as standard, but the Dealer or garages would fit them as after sales

£22 sounds like a very good price.
My 2004 doesn't have tyre protectors, although I have just bought a set from Rimmers. There was a recall in 2004 for some saloon models between a certain range of VINs:- RJ 133300 to RJ 247257 (affected markets only) I don't know if they were ever fitted as standard, although I'm sure there will be someone who knows. |

The protector’s do work. I have a broken front spring and I only found out when the broken piece rattled under the car making me stop and investigate. I was able to drive home and park up. Spring ready to fit on my next day off.

Thanks for all the responses, the springs were on offer and should cost £33 odd. I'll have to check if mine is fitted with tyre protectors. I had a spring break on another 75 that I had and it took the tyre out, luckily the car was parked when the spring broke but I didn't notice until I tried to drive it.
