Question Cold morning start up!

Not strictly about the ZT but still a MG......the wife's TF 1.8. Now the colder early morning have arrived (wife starts work at 6am) the car struggles to start on initial turn over and takes 2-3 turns of the key and even then needs to keep the revs up to ensure it starts. The same thing happened last year and resolved itself when the weather warmed up again.
Any tips or ideas anyone?????? Thanks in advance
