Census 2021 ???
Just finished my census submission!!!! I can't believe what we are now being asked! Having researched some of my ancestry recently, I'm not sure that my grandparents would have been happy to be asked the same questions. My grandad would probably have "chinned" the researcher!!!

Some "guidance" from the gov:-
https://census.gov.uk/help/how-to-an...questions-help From my info form:- "We need your help with the census, which gathers vital information to help plan services such as transport, education and healthcare." How those questions will help to plan for the above is beyond me............... but I am not a "professional" statistician, on a high salary, so what would I know? Maybe to see how many buses to paint in rainbow colours???

It's noticeable how some things have become 'things' in just the last decade, they were never mentioned in previous census. But maybe there are examples of similar social and community changes on previous censuses as society changes and develops.

...and you won't! You will need to go online or phone (yawn, yawn) for a paper version, which will probably not arrive in time for you to meet the return deadline! |

Thanks for the link. That's not a census, either in relevant context or content.
For instance: Qu.3. I wonder if the page has space for 'Mind your own damned business, it's got nothing to do with you and your obsessions'. Also, in the interests of data protection, who gave them permission (1) to use my email (if they do) and 2. Who excused them from a forewarning that I might be exorcised if I do not have an email account? Will I be prosecuted if I close my email account? Are any of the questions on a voluntary basis? So many objections brimming but that will do. Many steps too far. That, taken with the now up to four intrusive calls from the surgery and despite earlier instructions on the subject, we still get calls on the same subject.

So, it seems some people on here are not happy with having to answer census questions.
You should ask, will your answer actually matter, whether it's truthful or not? Now, you should feel better! |

Surely not suggesting some might lie? What would be the point?
