Rover 45 Wanted
Hi Everybody,
Finally sold my 75 after eleven years as it had done Startrek mileage, but now I'm 83 I think I should downsize a little - but still remain loyal to the marque. So, I'm looking for a truly immaculate 45 if anyone knows of one going but they appear to be as rare as Donald Trump saying something sensible I'll pay a top price for the right one when it comes along, so that it will last me until I go to the Great Longbridge in the sky. My email address is: [email protected] (Yes, that's right - I do have a 1931 sleeve valve Daimler). Regards to all, Stan. |

I've been using a facelift 45 1.8 Conoisseur as my daily since 2012 Stan and have nothing but praise for it.It's proved very reliable, comfortable and is well specced.Go for it

Are you particular over which engine, spec or model year as I know of a very nice mk2 Connoisseur diesel saloon that's available.

Hi Lads,
Thanks for your responses. I'd prefer a manual model (or perhaps a car with the steptronic transmission) - but I've heard the CVT box is a bit of a no-no. I'd be interested in the diesel car LeRich mentioned, but above all I'd like a really nice specimen not limited by price to continue my 30 years involvement with the marque. I actually was on Top Gear about 35 years ago when they did a feature on company cars, where I extolled the virtues of Austin Rover products (as they were called then) and had a 'phone call next day from Harold Musgrove no less!! Happy days! |

A nice memory for you there Stan.
From experience with customers that have owned 45's with the CVT box I would also say to avoid. I have three 45's, a 1.6 Club (manual) & two 2.0 V6 Conns. All the V6 45's were only available as a Saloon & all had the Jatco autobox. Good luck with your search. |
