OK Zeb - got me

I didn't even know what my isp address was !

We have avast and as far as I can tell we have never had a problem virus
( but I have no doubt there could be all sorts of nasties lurking !)

I was under the impression (evidently false) that we had a firewall courtesy of tiscali

So what do you recommend ?

Have just looked at www.pctools.com any good ?

Lol, your firewall is most probably fine! I would recomment Zone alarm to back up your router firewall though.

Whilst I didn't think my details were available for general viewing I was concerned that it was possible that we didn't have a firewall

some of us struggle with these things you know !

now if you want a house built or an item of plant repairing ---------------
( though not any of this new electronic stuff though !)

seriously though, some things, including our cars are in my opinion too complicated and electronic for their own good.
the amount of kit and cars scrapped because its too expensive/ no one understands the electronics is really unacceptable
