2.0 petrol engines

I was just wondering, when Rover got rid of the 2.0 petrol engine v6 ones, i got wondering when the 1.8T took over how many survivors of the 2.0 petrol v6 engines are left? as 2002 was the last ones made, well before the 2005/2006 later ones which came out.

how many 2.0 litre engines are left? question how many in the club?

Don't know, but I have a Moonstone V6 Auto Connie 2 litre. Lovely car to drive.

Change in taxation for fleet owners meant the demise of the 2 litre in favour of the turbo, which is miles better anyway

I've got two, a MK1 which came off the line in 2003 and a MK2 which came off the line in 2004, both on an 04 plate.

I had a feeling the 2.0 V6 was still available after the 1.8T was launched, but only as a special order and not shown in the brochures ?

You could still order a 2.0 V6 up to the end of production

But after the 18T came out they became a lot less desirable.

After experiencing a lot of headaches from my Asian cars with terrible turbos I decided to go for the 2.0 V6 version of the 75.

I do rev up the car probably more than most others. A full tank gives me a range of 435 miles. The car doesn't mind going fast at all; tested on the autobahn.

With 126 000 miles it's still going strong.

Yes I find after months of not starting my 2.0 V6 its fires up immediately, its the only v6 i have all the rest are diesel engine versions and i have found it quite reliable when left for weeks, always fires up, impressed, and with these engines first to get dropped by MG Rover, can't be many of them left.

Big fan of the 2.0 v6 myself.

Smoothest engine in the entire range, and smoothest kv6 overall.

Always felt the 2.0 should have had about 175 bhp and the 2.5 around 210 ish as standard.

Unquestionably a 2.0 auto is the best combination of sheer comfort and smoothness.

I hope to find a nice example to add to my collection in the future, just a shame about the v6 belt costs for a car that may only do few hundred miles. Ayear.
