I have another thread going with the exact same problem. I am leaning towards dirty contacts in the switches, although I have cleaned them with isoprop. and air. My spare non cruise set seem to work fine.

Don't know if this will help but this shows how to reprogram the steering wheel controls on the Navall3 head unit.

Nav 3 steering wheel controls
Jeff,
I wil also give this a try as my steering wheel controls no longer operate, though previously the volume control reversed; louder made it quieter and quieter made it louder! |

mine does this too every now and again, always the volume button, instead of turning the volume up or down it skips to the next song.
lately it hasn't been doing that but instead nearly everyday my naval takes about 5 minutes to register my steering wheel controls. so they wont work until about 5 mins into my journey when they suddenly start working. not really a issue, but would be interested if it can be resolved |

I know the issue has been raised with the factory so possibly it may be rectified when we get the next firmware update.......before you ask, nope I don't know when that will be

Mine is a Win5, so upgraded software will be of no use, besides it has never done it in 4 years.

Depending on which version WinCe unit you have, try these
http://youtu.be/K8ZDkQ12U_M http://youtu.be/GyJedBg9g5o If neither of these work then it sounds like your unit isn't connected to the steering wheel control wires and will require removal to sort that out. I can if that's the case guide you but better to start a new thread if so
