I had five bought for me the week I was born, by my grandmother and have never won a bean, I'm 56 this year.
on the other hand, I could still get the £5 back. Sent from my SM-J500FN using Tapatalk |

Premium bonds
I had my first win over 30 years ago (of £100) when I had a relatively small holding of £300. This encouraged me to invest regularly over the intervening years and at times I've held the maximum holding. I've currently had a total of 204 separate wins, with the largest being a single win of £1000 and generally it compares reasonably with the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- investment rates that one would get elsewhere. The most important justification is ...that one can always get one's stake back!

Right, thanks for all the information, I have had a long think about it and weighing everything up I have decided to buy some. I will be buying £1000 to start with and probably adding about £500 a year there after. It seems a safe bet and who knows I might win something.
