Default Uneven tyre wear

I fitted new tyres all round 17,000 miles ago and now have the following wear pattern: both front tyres and the rear offside are down to 3mm but evenly worn across the face. The nearside rear is 3mm in the middle but 2mm on the outside and 4mm on the inside edge. All the tyres are the same make (Goodyear Excellence - 195/65 R15 size). Is this reasonable? Previous front wheel drive cars that I have owned have worn the fronts more quickly that the rears, not at the same rate. Does the uneven wear on the rear nearside indicate that the alignment is outside limits? One complication is that I recently found that the rear offside suspension spring had fractured at the last half coil so that this side was slightly low. I have since replaced both rear springs. I only found this by accident, so have probably been driving for some time with the broken spring. Could a broken offside spring account for uneven wear on the opposite side? The steering appears to be correctly aligned with no tendency to wander and the steering wheel is in the central position when driving straight ahead.

My ZT always wore the O/S rear unevenly, a proper 4 wheel alignment check and adjustment sorted it.

You say 'you think the wheels are correctly aligned'. I would suggest to take car to a tyre garage which has Hunter wheel alignment equipment. It uses laser technology and minimises human interpretation. They should give you a re-out before and after. I had my car checked a few moths ago in SE London for £60, the first time in 12 years of ownership.

(If you require some part used/nearly new 15-inch tyres see the Members Spares for Sale thread. I have three for only £50.)

These are the specs. Make sure the tracking depot uses the same info.
