Does that sound about right?

Yes I would.

I had to as I had to cut two of them to get the arm off.

Mind you..... if they come out without a fight....they should be ok to use again.

But..... if you don't buy them and they need to be cut out by your mechanic...... there may be a delay for him and you.

They are only a few quid..... Buy them just incase.

Probably means the subframe - if the inner arm bolt won't budge and rounds off he will have to drop that.

Just done both of mine, along with the trailing arm brackets and bushes, rear springs and top link joints, and yes not the best of jobs due to seized bolts.

I would hate to even think about taking the rear subframe off !!!

My inner bolt came out easy.

It was the two outer bolts and the drop link bolt that had rusted solid

Which is why I would suggest buying the rose joint bush to have in stock in case of it being required

These are what I use, and suggest for the price worth having just in case.

Mine failed on the exact same arm and i got the garage to do it.They got the parts from Rimmer Bros. arm was £120 and with new bolts and bush in total was £152.
It then took them 2.5 hours (at a cost of £125)to do and said it was a terrible job, the bolts were very rusty, bit by bit got them undone and were relieved they didn't snap, which would mean they would have to lower the sub frame.
So in total it cost £277.First job i've had done at a garage in 8 years but i couldn't have done this in my driveway. At least this will give you an idea of what it could cost.Goodluck.

Mine was also done at a garage a few weeks ago - nightmare of a job, the captive nut detached and caused all sorts of problems.

The rose joint was also on its last legs, but I was away and couldn't get a replacement to them... at least it'll come apart easily when the time comes to change it!

Default Rear arms

Mine were done a little while ago as it also failed the MOT on the N/S.
I had both arms, springs and shocks done at an MG Dealer in Baldock.
I sprayed all the bolts a week before with Bilt Hamber Ferrosol to un-seize them first, to make the job easier and hopefully cheaper,
all went well, and after a large bill, the car feels great again.
