I sprayed the pipe joints with some water to see if any of the solder joints had failed but I couldn't see anything, It seemed the service engineer who serviced the boiler earlier in the year hadn't tightened the gas pressure test bolt where they check for a sustained pressure.
Oooo eerrr - that was not good! I have a bottle of some stuff in the garage that you spray on gas pipes to help detect leaks - bit of a glorified detergent mix I’m sure but when you use it on leaks you get these amazing bubbles

Glad you got it sorted.

As for the weather here on the tip of Hampshire at the Dorset Wiltshire border it is a glorious sunny day.

Windy, but hardly a cloud in the sky

My back still isn't flexible to bend and I couldn't crane my neck to see that little test bolt if it was leaking. In fact I got it wrong! it wasn't the gas service fitter who left that bolt loose it was the gas company who had changed out our old meters for the new style meters.

The missus wasn't too happy about opening all the windows and letting the heat out though

Should have just lit a match, that would have cleared the gas.

Morning all, bright and cold here today. I washed the van yesterday, first time in about 3 months. We are supposed to be putting the Xmas decries up today, but the mrs needs to get a pile of washing and washing up to move before cleaning the living room. I’m keeping out the way, as I made the meals all last week .

Jeez! everyone and their dog seem to be out shopping today, just been down to the Aldi for a few things and they were queuing up waiting to get in a packed car park.
Never seen it so manic.

I ended up going to Morrisons instead, one good thing about Morrisons is they have a big choice of cheaper lamp cuts.

Scrag end and belly chops a plenty to make a Lancashire hotpot with which is on the go for tea as I type.

Looking forward to going away for Christmas in two weeks time, a place called Lof in the Moselle valley return home on the 27th, really don't know what to expect weather wise, snow/rain??

Julien, here is a tip about the nausea which I had following the abdominal surgery and gastroenteritis last year. I was prescribed a melt-in-the-mouth tablet called ODANSETRON and found it worked fast. Also prescribed for nauseous women in pregnancy, people receiving radiation or chemotherapy, to help them get through the treatment. I keep a supply for use in Africa in case the need arises. http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/en/ond...on-4mg-tablets

Will you be going to the Christmas market in Cologne?

Jessica and I send our love

Hi Phil. Thankyou.
No! Have a look on the internet Rail Discoveries, and search Christmas in the Moselle Valley, it has our itinerary on there.
