Just done a little more research on the Oil cooler and from what I've gleaned I think bypassing is a case of unclipping the coolant hoses joining them together and then presumably blanking off the now empty ports on the oil cooler Does that sound right? If so what is the internal diameter of the coolant hoses that go into the oil cooler, maybe there is a plastic plumbing coupling that I could find for the job. As regards the ports on the oil cooler I would need to know the external diameters to find something to blank them off. As an expert on all things cooling I'd hope you may know these figures!!! Thanks Paul |

So what about the ports that become empty do they need covering or not? Cheers Paul Last edited by paulh260260; 31st March 2021 at 22:10.. |

I've found some plastic hose connectors that are 32mm OD so should fit into these hoses, however the ID is 26mm and they are 90mm long will the reduction in bore have any effect on the pressure on the coolant system? Cheers Paul |

Do I need to drain the oil as well as the coolant prior to bypassing the oil cooler. Cheers. Paul |

[QUOTE=SD1too;2874599]That's a very relevant question Paul. Disconnect one of the coolant hoses first and try to catch the water in a bowl. Does it have oil in it? If it doesn't, then I would question the need to proceed any further with a by-pass.
Simon[/QUOTE Thanks Simon But could there be a blockage in the coolant side of the cooler ( maybe caused by k seal for example). Bypassing the cooler will remove blockage and provide a clear hose. Does that make sense? Paul |
