PS there is no facility to save a config file as with TOAF - you can read codes, toggle sensors on/off, and save to the SRS. That's it.
Hi roger, toaf does have the save function (not sure of the srs module, I never used it). I think the options are save or back up. Back up is saving the configuration to a data file, allowing you to load it to the module if it goes wrong. Save, saves any changes made to.the actual module.

Cheers Alan - sorry, I worded that badly. What I meant was that, unlike TOAF, there's no option to back up with the SRS app.

There's just Read and Save

Got away with it though

The one thing I've noticed with that app is that the front seatbelt pre-tensioners are listed separately.
It's not possible to disable one side without it affecting the other as the wiring is connected from one to the other serially

That's interesting, Russ, thanks. As I say, best thing to do is get the wiring fixed anyway... I just see it as a temporary convenience

I've just had a thought. The SRS system can obviously tell one from the other somehow, otherwise how would it identify my driver's one as being at fault?

And if it can tell which is which, can it not be told to ignore one of them

According to the displayed fault on the app it just says that the resistance is too high on the front tensioner circuit, not which side.
It's not possible for it to read each one unfortunately as they're linked.
It's one of the bugbears with the SRS system when it comes up with that error it could be one side or the other or both

With all the other modules it correctly identifies which one is causing the problem.
Wish they would have designed the front pre-tensioners the same way, it would have saved me a lot of time over the years.

You're quite right, and now I know why I thought otherwise... the light came on when I slid my seat forwards to accommodate a child seat or something in the back, so I guess unconsciously I knew which side it was, and interpolated that with the reading from the app

OK just to confirm - disabling either left or right pretensioner turns the warning light off, as per the series wiring that Russ pointed out.

But I know it's my right one, as the light came on when I moved the seat
