I'm Spartacus, and so is my wife.
Pretty sure the recent lack of activity on the other sections of the forum was a factor in me looking at threads in the "social" section- I shall return to that blissful state of ignorance and use the time to feed strawberries to donkeys. |

Folk will generally use private mode when they don't want others to know they are online
On my part I never used it whilst I was a mod but when I stepped down a some members 'stalked' me every time I was online so I went private then and remain so. Nothing sinister, nothing underhand, just members who don't want others knowing they are online |

As for the donkeys, how posh they are eating strawberries. Do the humans live up to their standards?

I'm confused about some things, but learned long ago to live with my own naivety. Even so, why on earth would anyone want to avoid being recognised as an interested member? Ego? That seems decidedly counterproductive. One has doubts about intent. But that's probably my naivety again. In any event, it's disappointing.

Does it matter if people are in stealth mode?

Perhaps it's the terminology. Stealth? Naaa, no need for the option. Log in if you want to, don't if you don't. Who cares? The question is prurient.

Not at all. My OP was intended as a lighthearted post in the form of a guessing game, not to provide an opportunity for anyone questioning others' motives for using this mode of reading.
