If you've ever driven an MGTF with a broken, non-erectable hood up the M1 at 70mph (ahh-em!), the baseball cap has to be on backwards, or you'd loose it before London Gateway Services! LOL!

Think that's bad, local garage has a Lada Riva with wide wheels

Yes Phil you would still be able to look after a ZT yourself. Depending upon which one you choose you'll find performance tweaks in addition to the firmer suspension and styling changes inside and out. Some ZT KV6 engines use different camshafts. Maintenance would be no more difficult than on a 75. Both Rover and MG have a few parts which require a bit of time and trouble to obtain but that's nothing unusual in the world of car repairs.

I run a 2004 ZT 2.0l diesel (135 bhp or thereabouts) - ie face lift. This is my second one and i use it as a daily car for work and pleasure such that it does around 20k miles a year. The engine and drive train (clutch apart) have never given any issue - the biggest issues have been a replacement alternator, clutch, exhaust and rebuild of the rear brakes.

A bit heavier on tyres than i would like.

On the whole a very reliable car i can go anywhere and occasionally well off road down access tracks etc for work.

Currently around 162k miles. Second one i have had (both metallic grey) - first one was in 2008 (again a face lift) which only was broken up for spares in 2021 having covered 262k miles - reason was not wishing to fix the slave cylinder again (horrible job) and simply easier to buy another one - ie December 2017.

Its a cap for your baseballs innit bruv . . . . I think that's how the young chaps speak nowadays

I have a book about the Bentleys from the 1930s. Can't recall his name but one guy who used to race his was asked what preparations he made for a race, his reply was "I turn my cap round and put my goggles on"!
