Each side of this discussion believes they fund the other.

But it isn't just about the money.

In my DNA there is Scottish, Irish, English and German bits! My passport says British. I'm a citizen of the world. We all eat, breathe, drink and s***, and as far as I can see, we all want the best for our young 'uns. True independence for any nation is almost impossible in a modern world. "Great" Britain? We are a pretty good mixture when we stick together but it needs to be a fair share of everything. How that is achievable, we will argue about until the cows come home!

‘Fraid I don’t understand why a thread should be closed because the ‘OP’ is no longer involved? The subject has been well supported and continues to be so. Isn’t it easier to ignore if one is no longer interested? Personally, I couldn't care less what happens behind closed doors.

The subject is also of major importance to us all. Of course, the directors have every right to decide what is within rules, but, in absence of any published reason for the ‘banning’, maybe it’s premature to close? Members are always free to disengage.

I'm surprised the OP has been banned. There are practicising political animals on here who dish out the same old politics at every opportunity and have been doing so for years. They would even try to convince others that the succeptibility of the diesel's ECU to water ingress was part of the EU conspiracy supported by our own political elite.

Perhaps the OP just lacked the pseudo-sophistication - the ability to use long and posh sounding words - of the more accomplished political animals.

It's a sad day when a person ends up being punished due to his lack of capability in some skill of no value, if this is what has occurred.

Steve - it's a shame you've unsubscribed from this therad. I was going to say something about cars as a distraction and just to annoy a few members.

Wot, you might say, a comment on cars on this platform for spouting political persuations!

For the most part it's been quite civil and respectful I think. Folks have aired their concerns as to the effect the possible breaking up of the country could have. I for one have been most interested in the feelings of those across the geographical divide. Other sites were the discussion occurs simply end up as a slanging match.

It's a shame the op has been banned, think he mentioned he was on thin ice. I may not have always agreed with him, but at least he kept it respectful.

The future of the UK concerns me, I just like to know if others share the same concerns. For the most part it seems they do.

At least on here.

It will be a shame to see this closed. But.

I've no idea why the banned member was banned. However, nor do I particularly want to know. I'm sure the directors are sensitive to trends and can be relied upon to accept at least some transgressions in the interests of the majority.

In defence of the 'banned member', and as far as I am aware, he never made snide allusions to other members' posts or interests.
Disparaging descriptions of other members' interests are somewhat more worthy of any banning that might go on surely? Such infantile behaviour in a well mannered club is a rather sad reflection.
