Default BEV's on Alibaba

Roll up Roll up get yer cheap as chips (£6000-£7200) electric vehicles from the Chinese automaker Hawtai from the Alibaba site. I wonder what the overall price of these will be after import duties/vat & registered in Blighty!!!

Would you really want a whole car made from the same place that makes all those dodgy "OEM" spares?

I cant say!!! I've no idea if they make dodgy OEM parts Hawtai is a huge automaker who had a joint venture with Hyundai for many years & made most of Hyundai's SUV models in China.

Not that I would buy one, but the only concern I would have would be parts and service back up..

Never mind duty and VAT etc I wouldn't fancy paying the shipping from China.

If you go for LCL (less than container load) it's around 1100-1250 quid on a slow boat from China across the seven seas to the UK depending on the port (Manchester 2022 figures 40-56 days) There might be goods stacked on the roof of the car though

The problem will be if there's any issue with the car - they may expect it to be shipped back to China for testing/inspection.

That's a lot of money and duration for say a TPMS fault.
