Default Earn your favourite malt: unjam my seats

Anyone in or around Somerset can earn a bottle of their favourite malt if they are confident of freeing the rear seat on my saloon. Yes I've read all the posts here, I've poked and pulled, cursed - even prayed - with no success in freeing the jam on one side (both plungers stuck fully depressed). Tried screwdrivers, extensions, anything that I can poke down all to no avail.

So just let me know what wets your whistle and I'll be on your doorstep before you can say Johnnie Walker (or possibly Bunnahabhain).

Mines jammed too 😞 but I’m nowhere near Somerset. I’ve tried the recommended actions too, but to no avail, I can’t seem to find the release bar at all no matter what I shove down the hole.

Sadly was in Somerset a month or so ago, but back in NI now. I'd have been cheap too, as I don't drink any more

Anyway, hopefully somebody will drop by - if not, I was in your position many years ago, and just couldn't get it. Just in case it helps, I found a large flat-bladed screwdriver the best tool for the job. I tried again and again, and then felt the spring clip thingy quite clearly with the blade - I gave it a fairly brutal shove, and it just let go.

Once you've done it once, the mystery is gone (though if you avoid slamming the seat back, instead closing it gently while holding the buttons down, it may never happen again - mine hasn't in nearly 10 years now).

Good luck...

A trip to our next Nano meet will see these sorted for you, there is a chap named Scott (sewerman) whom know how to fix this with his eyes closed more or less, seen him fix a few

Is this an issue that’s peculiar to saloons, or does it also affect tourers?

I would love to come but it's a 300 mile round trip and am tied up on your Aug meet. (There's also the slight worry, do I want a sewer man near my lovely leather?)
