Question MAF replacement Guide

One of my Diesels is starting to give signs of need for a MAF upgrade eg sluggish response at lower revs. I am thinking of a new sensor unit from DMGRS but would like to find a 'HOW to' for this. I have found such a thing on another club site that was, I am sure ' drawn up by Arctic but the photos are no longer present - perhaps it is also present on our site but , so far , I've not found it. Does anyone know where one is ?
All the best.

Follow up - of course it always happens , just when you have given up looking you find more or less what you wanted . In this case I did , indeed , come across a Mod by Arctic at https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=307029 BUT if anyone has any extra useful notes to add they would be welcome.

Sell the maf, get a maf less remap, and never worry about it again as it will fail on you again one day. 12 years plus of driving 25, 45 & 75 diesels with maf less remaps now, and never had a single issue.

Thumbs up Appreciated

Thanks for the observation Colin and worth trying out. Question - do I just remove what I take to be the Sensor unit from the MAF housing and leave it at that ? Arctics mod gives direct access to the unit and I should be able to simply undo the two screws and pull it out ?
All the best.

By the way , did I read you had a car stolen the other day and did you get it back ?

All the best

If your just replacing the physical maf insert rather than the whole unit it's very easy, but you will likely have the 5 sided security screws on it at the top, undo them, swap over, and plug back in, and your golden. Engine cover off, it's been a while since I did one, so I can't remember if it's air box off also!

Wasn't my car, was Jon's. Sadly still no sign. My shed & storage got raided when I was at POL. Was definitely a Rover enthusiast when they stole stuff like mk2 Xenons but left my power tools, they knew what they where after!

Hi Roger.
To get your car running other than in limp mode, you just unplug the MAF sensor, you do not remove it out of the case.

The only time to remove it is if you are going to replace it, even if you had a maffless map you would still not remove the sensor.

The mod is for easy access only to the sensor.
