Well there's a surprise (and sorry for hijacking your thread, Mike Trident, but I have shared your concerns about injectors ) - car sailed through the MOT this morning, with the usual advisory about slight weep from the rack. ABS issue sorted, and seat belt was jammed by a little sea shell

Now all I have to decide is if I want to have the rack replaced anyway, and the only suspension spring which has never been replaced, in case it goes pop this winter like the other one

Had the same problem a few years ago and treated the PAS reservoir to a bottle of stop leak and reconditioner. It works by swelling the rubber seals.

Well, my car went for it's MOT yesterday

It has an emissions plate value of 1.33 1/m

The average reading taken from mine 0.01 1/m

Does that mean my car is incredibly clean or my injectors are blocked ?

Or is this low emissions reading linked to the rough tick over I've mentioned in another post. Looks like my engine is starved of fuel at tick over.

Oooh never heard of that one... sounds like a plan. Do you remember the name of the product Mike?

Thanks

I had a leak from both ends of the rack, so I did the same with mine, I drained the PAS and refilled with this and fresh fluid. No more leaks, and it's been over a year now.
Also, I couldn't believe how light the steering was after the change, the old fluid was brown and was probably the original stuff.

Stop Leak

It was a fair few years ago, and I can't remember the name of it but the bottle Vossy linked to looks like it will do the job.

Hi Steve,
I had visions of changing the rack and with no expectations of this stuff doing any good I had nothing to lose.
Pleasantly surprised with no leaks still.
