Today we had to say goodbye to our Sydney after a short illness.

He was a great companion and we are going to miss him loads.

How are your other cats reacting to their missing friend? I remember when we lost Abbey, Pops and Suzy kept wandering around the house looking for her

Mostly okay but Cubby has become a lot more clingy to me. Whether that is because Sydney was very much boned to me and now Cubby has an opportunity to gain that spot, or whether it is he is just sad and offering mutual comfort I'm not sure.
The others seem to be going about their daily routines as if nothing has changed.

Cats are definitely more 'aloof' than dogs and more independent in their social activities so I guess they don't sense the loss as much as dogs do when a household member passes.
