Thumbs up

I've just done this as well (using a fibreglass pen carefully) and was over the moon when it worked. Fantastic forum for tips!

Just want some advice, on my 75 the mirror control only works up and down and not left and right, so I took another whole control unit off another 75 but having the same issue, so not sure what the problem is, just wondered if there are their separate fuses for up/down & L/R.

Colin.
Also watch out for bent pins in the connectors. Mine stopped working and I assumed it was a control panel issue, so I ordered a second hand one off eBay.
When I took off the original switch panel, I noticed a bent pin, so I straightened it and found my mirror returned to full function. I now have a spare switch panel for vehicles that only have front electric windows/ mirrors that aren't powerfold. The pin must have been bent when my Hi-Fi speakers and soundproofing were installed since that's the only time the door card came off.

Default Worked brilliantly

My mirrors also worked intermittently and in certain directions.

I followed this guide and used a bit of electrical contact cleaner on the contacts.

Now works fully.

Many thanks, guides like this are invaluable for a novice like me!

I tried all the above except the fibreglass pen, with no success. EVentually I gave the contacts a tiny touch with very fine emery, and they've been fine since. Mine must have had a robust oxide film on them, even though they looked clean and shiny

Going to sound stupid here.

Which contacts are people talking about?
Is it the contacts in the loom plug or the contacts inside the adjuster switch itself?

Many Thanks

Take the large cover off of the whole door switch and there is a printed circuit board underneath. This board has contacts on and it is these that need cleaning.
Have a look at this thread https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=233971

Be very very careful levering the little catches open to split the switch pack open - there's a fine line between separating and breaking them

I found something very thin but wider than a screwdriver was ideal... in my case the blunt end of a metal nail file. You'll see what I mean when you try to do it. Take it very slow and patiently
