Default E torque spanners??

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between an E torque spanner and a standard ring spanner? I need to change my pas pump, and to do this l need to get a spanner on the belt tensioner, which after reading the posts on here seems to be a bit of a swine. So l looked up long reach 24 mm spanners on eBay and up came a 400mm long E24 flat ring spanner. Which looks like it might do the trick, has anyone had any experience with these? Or am l over complicating things..

The E prefix to the size relates to an external TORX type spanner size. (For more in-depth detail go to Wikipedia.)
