Default Not been on here much lately

As above I have not been on here much recently as my mind has been occupied by other things.

Well I am currently waiting till 11am then I am driving my launch car from Plymouth to Nottinghamshire.

I have booked my HGV Class 1 ie artic lessons.

I am travelling up today and start my training tomorrow.
I am really nervous but also looking forward to the experience.

If anybody sees me give me a wave

I bought my launch car a couple of presents for the trip

A full chrome grille and a rubber boot liner.

It has been cleaned and looks great.

Thanks Thomas

I am sure you will do well although never done HGV I did do PCV training and got the licence some years back. Just don't sweat it and you should be fine. let the nerves get you and you will make mistakes.

I did my HGV training in Nottingham more than 20 years ago.

If you can get round all the tight traffic islands in Nottingham you will be fine. Take on board exactly what your instructor tells you. It really does work!

I drove and maintained HGV's for many years and enjoyed almost every minute. They've changed quite a bit from the Atkinson Borderer that I started out on. No synchros, no power steering, no cab suspension - you get my drift. My knees and shoulders still ache when I think about it!

Enjoy the experience and watch out for bikers.

Good Luck Thomas I did my LGV2 (rigids) a year ago and thankfully passed. I like to think I am/was a good driver but my LGV and subsequently driving a 40' long 30 tonne lorry on occasions has really given me an understanding and greater respect for lorry drivers.

Hope all goes well
