Back to looking for a Sat Nav unit it seems.
Due to an accident it seems that I am again looking for a suitable sat nav unit.
Oh well back to the drawing board.

The problem is that the budget is just not there for units like this which is why I originally asked about the cheaper Chinese offerings. At this rate I will have to try and get maps of France on the Garmin Nuvi 42 unit.
However would much prefer a unit that is fitted into the dash as it will attract less attention than one stuck onto the inside of the screen. Parkers Xtrons unit was within our meagre budget.

Have to say after having a DD sat nav unit, I much prefer my current set up, a Sony DD Head unit and a Garmin say nav, for the seconds it takes to in lip the Garmin, much better in my opinion.

Unfortunately I damaged it really beyond economical repair as I dropped it from above waist height on to a concrete floor of my garage
If you are desperate for satnav cheap then can't you use your iphone? I have downloaded Sygic just £19.99 for lifetime use and traffic updates. The system updates constantly with cameras, new maps etc. etc. never need worry again. To be honest this is why I ditched my Xtrons and went back to the Symphony. I wanted OEM look, much better sound quality and you can upgrade the symphony to accept bluetooth. The Chinese units are great if you want the latest look and technologies, but you can still have satnav and bluetooth etc with OEM. Just a thought if funds are tight

Sat nav unit
If your car is hi-line, then I have an original system for cost of carriage only,) since having upgraded to Navall) and it should be able to plug straight in, since your car is wired to accept it. I also have the CD drive which goes into the rear offside pocket. If your car is not highline then according to Coolcat your wiring loom will not be suitable.
I also have a Tom Tom with 5-inch screen if you may be interested, price by negotiation. |

iPhone ??? don't have one and have never had one my phone is very basic no web access and no photo capabilty .................... it's just a phone. Geeze just looked up how much those suckers cost. Think I need a lie down now .
I don't need a lot of the features these new fangled units have. Heck I do not even think my phone has Bluetooth on it Perhaps I need a rethink on the idea? . Quote:
