Default Airbag warning light

Hi people, had a 75cdti for 6 months now and it's had an airbag warning
light on,which up until now just needed the wires under the passenger front
seat wiggling.
Now it's decided to stay on despite the wiggle technique so I figure whatever
was loose in the connecter has now come off.
Are there any recommendations of repairers that can sort this once
and for all.
I live in Leeds.(also newbie to this forum).👍👍👍👍

Hi Mike, the same wires that are a problem under the passenger seat are also problematic under the drivers seat worth a wiggle .
next progression is to disconnect the connectors under the seats and spray with contact cleaner disconnecting and reconnecting a few times. then if its still not cured water under the carpets is common and can cause failure of the sensors under the carpets.
Once you get into this depth you will probably need the codes reading on the car to find out where the fault lies.
If you do get this far contact Bigruss in Liversedge there is nothing Russ doesn't know about our cars and he has reasonable rates for a comprehensive service provided.
Where abouts in Leeds are you?

Default Airbag light

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply sir,I live in garforth . As for disconnecting the wires I think I will try that first. Stand by for another post with the headline....'airbags deployed '🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 .
I consider myself better at giving money to people to sort problems out than doing so myself😳😳🙂.

Under different circumstances I would had had a ride over to see if we could sort it, I'm only Easterly Road but given the current climate I will watch for the post or listen for the bang

Just to stick my nose in. If you are going to play with the SRS plugs, and cannot wait for, or get to a T4 before MOT. Start with the drivers seat. If playing with them, does not extinguish the fault warning, cut off the plugs and use 5amp connector blocks. If the front passenger seat is used, try there next. If you are unlucky, you will need a T4. I think a saloon can have about 14 SRS devices. connectors are not counted.

Thanks for the input👍 .I originally suspected the driver's seat connecters and it was only by accident I discovered the connecter under the passenger seat was the one that needed wiggling.
Am reluctant to start hacking at wires ,mainly because I have all the technical and mechanical abilities of a tree frog so I will have a play about under the driver's seat again.
If a loud bang is heard in the next 20 minutes it's only my airbags.🤯

If you haven't got time or opportunity to visit BigRuss then consider Toaf (use search). If even slightly handy with a computer or your kids are, then all you need is a USB KKL type lead and the extra SRS programme, all on Win Vista or above. You can then diagnose the SRS yourself.

In Sweden we’ve got a countrywide list of Toaf users who are willing to help others, time for UK to catch up?

Regards
