Default MG4 electric hatchback?

A new all electric MG4 hatchback will be launched in the UK by the end of this year it seems. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/mg/357...tric-hatchback

Not keen on the rear design but the rest of it looks ok.

Yeah it looks a bit bland to me also, SAIC & VW joint venture build the VW id3 in China & I should imagine it will be a competitor for that with similar tech.

The upcoming built in China Lotus SUV which will debut on the 29th March has similar styling to the MG judging by these patent images https://insideevs.com/news/572207/lo...tents-surface/

The MG (CyberE) EV has just rolled off the production lines in China coming this to UK.EU this year. It will be a direct rival to the VW iD3.

"According to MG, the CyberE will be released on the latest EV platform which supports level 3 autonomous driving, a smart cockpit, and 5G connectivity."

It will be a pocket rocket too with these specs

"Speculations suggest that the powertrain used in the new MG EV will be similar to the one used in the MG Marvel R. It comes in either a 288 hp twin motor configuration or a 284 tri-motor setup and is already on sale in European markets."

Cool MG?

How great would it be if the ditched that heavy battery and motor(s), and fitted a nice K Series 1.8 Turbo with a Kmaps upgrade.
It would do more than 150 miles, (real driving, not feather footed), you could fill it up in 2 minutes, (expensive, but what price do you put on fun). Zero range or charger anxiety, (we have a rubbish charging infrastructure and can hardly generate enough power to compensate for people putting the kettle on when there is a break in Coronation Street), and.... How much is it going to cost to run one of these things when they start taxing them and raising the energy price cap and telling you when you can and cannot charge them.
Just a thought.
