Rapid Indicators
First- status of car. 75 Diesel with suspected Alternator fault being currently worked on. Battery warning light permanently on probably due to Alternator.
Second - in context of the above I swapped battery for a newer one of another 75 but battery warning light still fully on as would expect id Alternator at fault. Now the odd thing - for some strange reason the direction indicators now fire at a rapid rate ! I note that I also have a failed light warning up too. Anyone any idea what is going on! Won't touch anything till Alternator sorted out but welcome pointers as to where I should look re Indicators. All the best. |

rapid flashing is an indication of a failed bulb, you have a failed bulb warning light. Are all the indicator bulbs working?

Slow progress
Just to thank those who have contributed so far . I will follow up on your points and report back once the car comes back from garage which is fitting a new Alternator. Had a try myself but not agile enough these days for this particular refit ! so will cost me but be glad to have the car back.
All the best. |

Hi,
If when you get your car back, you still have problems I would suggest checking the bulbs first (don't believe it will be the alternator) If you need any help, feel free to give me a shout

Agree that it's likely to be a bulb somewhere or an earth fault in one of the indicator bulb circuits if all the bulbs test OK.
